R.O.B. #8

I don;t really think it was the right thing to do, because in the end it didn't really help anyone having sex with evening star or stabbing jason with a jah-stick. I guess it was self satisfying for Chappie because, revenge is always satisfying especially if you do it toward the people you're most angry at, but in the end, it helped noone. He went through all of these things to do that, so many people around Chappie die. Killings here, killings there, drugs here, drugs there. I was quite surprised by this chapter though, i did not see Chappie getting his revenge in any of these ways. Killing Jason, maybe, but having sex with evening star, that's just crazy!

I believe my opinion on Bone has actually changed because he finally got the guts to do what he believed was right. And that's what's most important. usually he always thinks of doing something, but never ends up doing it. But now he's transformed, from Chappie the 14 year old pot head, into Bone the badass. He's been through a lot, he's learned a crap load of things as the years passed by. He matured greatly and started making decisions by himself, instead of being the follower and taking orders from another. He did what he wanted, so yes, i believed that Chappie has greatly changed.

I believe that we do learn more from his mistakes because in ways, many of us can relate to Chappie. Having lost a bestfriend, feeling betrayed by those who were once close to us. This might happen to some of us in some point of our lives so seeing this now from Chappie helps us to prevent these intense conflicts in the future. We learn from history people say, and we learn from others' mistakes. So after reading this, I'm sure I won;t make nearly as many mistakes as Chappie does in this book.

R.O.B. # 7

I think that the death of Prince Shabba lying in the pool of blood was really brutal and surprising. I think that it's quite weird that everyone around Chappie seems to die such as I-Man, Bruce, and Sister Rose. Although it's not necessarily Chappie's fault for all of these deaths, it's still typical for them to occur around him. I-Man's death seemed like a horrible sight for Chappie. Seeing your own best friend there, mouth open, lifeless.

man's inhumanity to man simply just means that as humans, we sometimes treat other humans like animals. We do this through cruelty, slaughter, and other forms of torture. We treat others sometimes as if they don't have feelings like ourselves. We get greedy like dogs fighting over the last dog treat. The beasts within ourselves tend to take over sometimes and we forget who we really are. And that is man's inhumanity to mankind. Examples are as such: Papa Doc tracking down I-Man because he slept with evening star. He let his beast mentality take over and he wanted to kill I-Man rather than just neotioating and using peaceful words to resolve this conflict.

I believe that it was I-Man's fault for having sex with Evening star in the first place. He knew that she was Papa Doc's but he still decided to sleep with her, putting his life in danger. It doesn;t really matter that Chappie told his own father, I bet that he was going to find out sooner or later.

R.O.B. # 6

I believe that Chappie's birthday party was just another excuse for I-Man and the others to throw another crazy party with drugs and such. There wasn't even a cake for Chappie which really disappointed him. The Banner saying Happy Birthday Chappie was torn down, symbolizing how much he didn't really matter to the rest of the group. Overall, the birthday party for Chappie was really depressing and disappointing because there was no attention on him at all. He wasn't expecting too much, because it's okay for a boy to expect something special on his own special day. What's missing though was the "love" in the party.
This chapter reveals how much of a coke addict Papa Doc is, and how angry he can get when he finds out about the whole thing between I-Man and Evening star. He threatens to murder I-Man and tells him to leave starport. My first impression of Evening star though, was a motherly type of woman, at least for Chappie that is.

R.O.B. #5

I believe a "coming of age" book means that it has a character who matures not only physically, but emotionally and mentally as a person, which basically happens to Chappie in ROB. He grows up and has different stages and slowly he learns more about life, he matures, and loses his innocence. These are some coming of age quotes from the book.
1."She looked at me in this strange fearful way like she didn't recognize me but almost did and I got this sudden new feeling of power and didn't even feel guilty for it. Then she reached into her purse and pulled out a twenty and passed it over... Now I'm a criminal. Now I'm a real Criminal." - this quote from Chappie shows how much he has changed from the old Chappie into a somewhat form of a criminal. he took money from his mother without even feeling bad. He lied, and he never returned home.
2."...I was a way new person with a new name and a new body even and my old identity as Chappie wasn't dead, it was only a secret." -This quote from Chappie shows that he has finally embraced his new self, Bone, after getting his tattoo done. After this, he believes that he is no longer Chappie, but that he is Bone, a completely different person, a criminal.
3."...I didn't look back because i was afraid I'd start crying if I did" - believe this quote from Chappie is significant because it shows that even though he's a "criminal" that he's still a human being with emotions, a human being that can still cry. It shows that we can somewhat relate to him and his feelings and that under Bone, is still Chappie, a Chappie with morals and good decisions.

One coming of age momnet in my life was when i was 5 years old and it was the first day of school ever for me. It was my kindergarten year and my mom dropped me off at school, leaving me for the first time ever in life. I was alone in that classroom even though there were about 20 other children around my age there. I still felt very lonesome, very vulnerable without my mother, so then i cried realizing that this was going to be my first life experience without her.
Another coming of age moment in my life was Only about 2 and a half years ago when my grandmother passed away. Thinking about it now, looking at the body of who onece used to be my grandmother made me realize that none of us stay here on Earth forever. Death is inescapable and we're all going to have to live with that fact. I looked at my grandmother, and although her time on Earth was done with, she was still with me. As cliche as it sounds, she was in my heart and still is to this moment.

ROB # 4

The era of the bus with Bong Brothers was literally crap when Chappie and Russ was with them, the place was disgusting , all they did was smoke crack, and stink up the whole place. They were literal crackheads and were no fun to hang out with. Once Chappie and Froggy move into the bus with I-Man, life just became instantly better, it was fun. They had stuff to eat like fruits and vegetables and had weed almost the whole time they were there. With the Bong Brother CHappie said "It smelled like a hazardous waste site" which isn't really healthy. "I thought about it since for the first timein myllife i was actually happy it made more sense for me to be thanking and praising foreign gods..." is what Chappie said to describe his happiness living with I-Man in the bus.

My first thoughts and impressions of I-Man is that he's really chill and nice and generous. And Chappie is paranoid about Fourth of July because cops will be out and about and will probably check up on the bus and they'll get introuble.

It was fist inhabited by the natives known as the arawaks and Christopher Columbus came over and took over and soon became a sales port for buckeneers and an island full of island full of African slaves.

Hallie Selasie - revered as the returned messiah of the Bible, God incarnate among the Rastafarian movement.

Tuesday 11/25 Chapter 5 response. New Ending

There I am, tied up against the bed, waiting for fate to play its job. I look out the window and I notice Russ' car parked out front, so i begin to yell his name hoping that he would hear me and come to my rescue. "Russ! Come here!" i yell. The sound of my voice is covered up by the loud music played by the bikers in the other room. No response from Russ then. I close my eyes and think to myself"Damn, how am i gonna get out of this" when all of a sudden a hear a little knowck at the window. "Sup, man?" It's Russ. He opens the window and crawls in, unties me and asks "Whatre you doing all tied up?" "They know! They know you took theyre stuff and sold it, man!" We gotta get outta here!" The curtain catches on fire from the heater. WE open the window and crawl through when suddenly a hand tugs at my ankle. "Hey, where do you think you two are going!" It's Bruce. The fire grows, so i freak out and pull my ankle along with Bruce on it. We walk through the roof and end up in an alley way, me Russ and Bruce, looking at the buillding on fire, like we've never seen a more beautiful sight. "Let's get the fuck outta here!" Bruce says and we start sprinting, sprinting like never before until we end up under the bridge where there was finally peace and silence. Bruce had a joint on him and we all split it. "What do you think happened to the rest of the bikers?" Russ asks. "They all burnt up in there." They wouldve found me by now if they were alive." There's an awkward moment of silence. "Cmon, let's go get some food" We look through trash cans for some fresh food which was a fail, so we just sat there, high and hungry. "What now?" I ask

Chapter 3 Response

In this chapter, Chappie and Russ get kicked out of their apartment because they weren't able to supply the bikers with weed, who apparently were also wire for three whole days. In the meantime, Russ decides to go home to his mother, leaving Chappie all by himself. In this condition, he decides to raom the mall, thinking that he will run into something interesting. After romaing around for a while, he notices a small little blonde girl, all by herself, barefoot, standing next to the mall fountain. He wonders if she lost her parents and why the hell she's barefoot when it'snowing outside. He walks up to her and asks her if she's okay, and she didn't respond. Bart, the security guard runs into him and tells him to leave, so he does. Later on, Chappie is still in the mall and notices the young girl from earlier walking with a suspicious looking man holding her by the arm, making Chappie think that she was either being abducted or that he was her uncle. He watches them for a while and sees the man buy lingerie from Victoria's Secret, causing Chappie to believe that he was Canadian. Thinking that he could probably score a smoke from this guy, he continues to follow into the food court and eventually goes up to him and asks if he could get a slice of pizza. the man buys him two and begins talking to Chappie about teh girl, whose name is apparently Froggy, and that she doesn't talk because she'sa prodige', preparing to get into character. As hecontinues talking to Chappie about screen tests and if he would want to do it. The Canadian is distracted, allowing Froggy to stumble away from him without noticing. He continues to talk to Chappie, who finds the man interesting because he makes him feel special. Chappei leaves with the man, thinking that he could crash at the man's place and also get some cash for the screen test. He asks the Canadian for 20 bucks in advance and after receiving it, they conitnue to walk toward Buster's car. They walk until Chappie looks at a window with a mannequin's body parts inside, causing him to all of a sudden, start running away. The man chases him into the mall until he loses him. Chappie buys chinese food with the money and later notcies Buster yet again with little girl, making him feel bad again and worried at the same time. I have to say that the author's writing style is amazing, simple yet full of information which is just the way i like it. The way he describes things with similies of things that he's seen before is amazing! i love it. After he gets caught stealing from Victoria Secret, his parents come to pick him up and save him. During the process he notices that Bart and his stepfather get along in the back office, causing him to get angry because he doesn't either of them.
